Team India, led by Shreyas Iyer, suffered a crushing defeat in the third T20I against England (IND vs ENG) on Tuesday (July 7). Chasing 201, India were bowled out for just 76 in 11.4 overs. England won by 125 runs. After the match, English fast bowler Jofra Archer has mocked Team India.
He explained how the flat pitches and short boundaries in the IPL made it difficult for Indian batsmen to play. At the press conference, Archer was asked how he changed his plans for England after bowling to several Indian batsmen in the IPL. Responding to this, Archer initially said, “I think I’m back to normal now.”

The English pacer explained that in the IPL, the pitches are easy, i.e. flat, and the boundaries are short. There’s very little room for error. “You try to bowl straight on a good length. Whereas there, the wicket is very easy and the boundaries are very small. So you have to be very careful. Here I think you have a little more margin for error,” he said.
Archer further said, “Sometimes a total of 200 is not a safe total in the IPL. With 200 on that wicket, I don’t want to say I was confident, but I felt it would take a really special innings to chase it. I am happy that everyone contributed. Everyone who bowled today got wickets. So it was a great and complete bowling performance.”
England lead the series 2-0
With the win in the third match, England has taken a 2-0 lead in the series. The first match of this series was washed out due to rain. England then won the next two matches. Now, Team India must win the next match at all costs to save the fate of the series. The fourth match between these two side will be played on Thursday, July 9th.
