India women cruise to eight-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in third ODI

India Women produced another commanding performance to defeat Zimbabwe Women by eight wickets in the third ODI of the Zimbabwe Women tour of India 2026, completing a dominant outing at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara. Zimbabwe struggled to build a competitive total after opting to bat first, with India’s disciplined bowling attack keeping the visitors under pressure throughout their innings.

Vaishnavi Sharma’s five-wicket haul restricts Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe’s batting line-up found it difficult to establish partnerships against India’s accurate bowling. Wicketkeeper-batter Modester Mupachikwa provided some resistance with 37 off 48 balls, striking seven boundaries, while captain Josephine Nkomo and Chiedza Dhururu attempted to steady the innings after early setbacks.

However, India’s bowlers continued to strike at regular intervals. Vaishnavi Sharma delivered an outstanding spell, claiming five wickets for 39 runs, while Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare picked up two wickets apiece. Zimbabwe were eventually dismissed for 131 in 39.5 overs, leaving India with a modest target to chase.

Pratika Rawal anchors comfortable chase

India’s response was swift despite an early setback, as Yastika Bhatia fell for a golden duck. Pratika Rawal took charge, batting confidently and finding the boundaries regularly to ensure Zimbabwe had little opportunity to make a comeback.

Rawal remained unbeaten on 59 off 56 deliveries, guiding India towards the target with a composed and assured innings. Harleen Deol also contributed with the bat as India reached 133 for two in just 17 overs, sealing victory by eight wickets with 33 overs to spare.

The emphatic win underlined India’s superiority across all departments. Vaishnavi’s maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs was the standout performance, while Rawal’s unbeaten half-century demonstrated India’s batting depth. Having already established control in the series, India completed another convincing performance, leaving Zimbabwe with plenty to consider after their struggles against the hosts’ bowling attack.
