One of the major reasons behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 title was Tim David’s form. He gave the RCB innings plenty of momentum at the death, which proved to be crucial at times. Even this season, he has been in excellent form, and in fact smashed an unbeaten 70 off just 25 deliveries against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), he breached the 1,000-run mark in the tournament. With that, David has the highest strike rate in IPL history among batters who have scored at least 1,00 runs.

David took just 50 innings to get to 1,000 IPL runs, and currently has a healthy average in excess of 37. The Australian batter has also smashed two fifties so far. RCB bought him during the IPL 2025 auction for INR 3 crore.
RCB have won four of their five matches this season, and a win today will take them to the top of the points table.
