Siraj-Tilak to headline in inaugural TG20 League

Indian cricket stars Mohammed Siraj and Tilak Varma will be the main attractions at the player auction for the inaugural edition of Telangana’s premier franchise cricket league, ‘TG20’, on Sunday. The first edition of TG20 is set to commence on June 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal. All matches of this tournament will be played at one of India’s finest cricket stadiums. This marks Telangana’s first-ever franchise-based T20 league, in which over 1,300 HCA-registered cricketers will go under the hammer. Throughout the league, 32 matches will be played between 8 teams over a span of 21 days.

“Ek bihari sab pe bhari”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi took the IPL 2026 by storm and emerged as the highest run-scorer, thereby claiming the coveted Orange Cap. Following the final match, Vaibhav met with RCB’s star batsman, Virat Kohli. During this interaction, Kohli boosted his morale. Kohli even went so far as to remark, “Ek bihari sab pe bhari.” Placing his hand on Vaibhav’s shoulder, Kohli spent a considerable amount of time motivating him. Kohli told Vaibhav, “From here on, you have to aim even higher. Everything you have achieved is the result of your hard work. Do not pay any attention to what others are saying.”

Six players called up as net bowlers for Afghanistan Test

Auqib Nabi, who missed out selection for the Afghanistan Test, is one among six bowlers who have joined the Indian squad as net bowlers to assist the team in the build up to the fixture, from June 6 in Mullanpur. Besides Nabi, two other quicks in this list are the young and impressive Prince Yadav and Tamil Nadu’s Gurjapneet Singh. Prince, who has quickly made a name in the IPL circuit, is also part of the India squad for the ODIs that follow this one-off Test.

Mitchell Santner accuses Mumbai Indians on salary issue

New Zealand’s bowling all-rounder, Mitchell Santner, who has accused his IPL team, Mumbai Indians, of failing to pay his full salary. MI had retained him for ₹2 crore. Plagued by injuries, Santner was unable to play in all of Mumbai Indians’ matches during this year’s IPL campaign. He has alleged that the franchise paid him only half of the agreed-upon amount. Mumbai Indians had retained him for a sum of ₹2 crore. During the IPL, reports had also surfaced suggesting that Santner had joined the New Zealand Test squad under the pretext of an injury. However, he has now personally addressed the matter.
