Experienced campaigner Harpreet Singh Bhatia will spearhead the United Arab Emirates’ challenge when they take on hosts Malaysia in a three-match T20I series beginning Monday (14th September).
The opening clash will be played at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on September 14, with the second T20I scheduled for September 16 and the series’ final match on September 17. All three matches will get underway at 10:00am local time.
UAE ready to take the challenge of Malaysia
Bhatia’s experience will be crucial for the UAE as they look to hit the ground running in the short-format series. The seasoned batter is expected to anchor the batting unit while also shouldering the responsibility of leading a side keen to make a strong start.
Malaysia, meanwhile, will look to turn home advantage into a competitive edge. Playing three games at the same venue should give the hosts familiarity with the conditions, while their challenge will be to contain a UAE side with considerable international and T20 experience.
With the entire series being played at the Bayuemas Oval within five days, both teams will have little room for error. A fast start could prove vital, particularly with the first match setting the tone for the remaining two encounters.
For the UAE, the focus will be on making Bhatia’s leadership count and establishing early control. Malaysia, however, will be determined to ensure the visitors face a stern test from the outset on home soil.
