Nahid Rana granted NOC to play the PSL final

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will grant a No-Objection Certificate to Nahid Rana to take part in the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Nahid, who had earlier featured in four matches this season was not initially cleared for the PSL return after coming to Bangladesh for the national duty. It added, “More importantly, the team management and medical department have cleared him, ensuring that his participation will not have any adverse impact on his fitness, workload management or availability for national duty,” it added.

Sri Lanka government takes over Sri Lanka Cricket, calls for structural reforms

On Wednesday, the Sri Lankan government took over the administration of the Sri Lankan cricket board after the mass resignation of the officials. The president Shammi Silva and other office bearers stepped down on Tuesday after the Sri Lanka president Anura Kumara Dissanayake negotiated a peaceful exit for them following massive allegations of financial irregularities. “Accordingly under the powers vested in him by sections 31 and 34 of the Sports Law No. 25 of 1973, all administrative functions of Sri Lanka Cricket will be temporarily brought under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,” stated a release from Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage.

The release also revealed that an interim committee will be appointed shortly to find solutions and to work on the structural reforms. Mr. Silva chaired SLC for seven years, having first won its presidency in 2019. He also served as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), succeeding Jay Shah in 2025.
