Sooryavanshi is ready to debut for Team India, said Gavaskar

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has made a significant statement regarding whether Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is ready to make his international debut for Team India. Now that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has turned 15, he is eligible to be selected for the Indian cricket team in any format, according to ICC rules. Team India will tour England in July this year to play ODI and T20I series. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a contender to make his T20I debut for India in this series.

According to Sunil Gavaskar, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a future star and, even at this young age, is ready to debut for Team India. Gavaskar said, “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is fully prepared for his T20I debut. I hope he will be included in the T20I squad for England. He must be included, because after such a brilliant performance, if you don’t give him a place now, then when will you?”

It’s like a dream come true: Harsh Dubey

Left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey has been selected for the first time in the Indian team for the one-off Test and three ODI series against Afghanistan. Dubey described it as a dream come true. He said that receiving his first call-up from the Indian team is a step towards fulfilling his dream of playing for India.

When asked how he felt about being selected for the Indian team, Dubey said, “For the first five minutes, I didn’t even realize I had been selected. I felt like I was still dreaming. It took me a while to fully understand it.” Dubey, who plays domestic cricket for Vidarbha, came into the limelight by taking the most wickets for his team in the Ranji season 2024-25.

India women beat England by 38 runs in the first T20I

India defeated the hosts by 38 runs in the first T20I of their England tour, just ahead of the T20 World Cup, sending a strong message to other teams. Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia, and debutant Nandani Sharma delivered impressive performances in the match played at the County Ground in Chelmsford. India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Batting first, India posted a mammoth total of 188/7. The foundation for this was laid by a match-winning 126-run partnership between Jemimah Rodrigues and Yastika Bhatia. Chasing the target, England got off to a positive start, but quickly lost momentum under the relentless pressure of the Indian bowlers and lost the match by 30 runs.
