‘He will find a solution soon’, Morne Morkel supports Rohit Sharma

The third ODI between India and England will be played on Sunday, July 19th, at the historic Lord’s ground, which is also the deciding match of the series. Ahead of this crucial match, only one name is being discussed everywhere is Rohit Sharma, who has managed only 11 and 26 runs in the two matches of this series. Amidst Rohit’s poor form, he has received support from Team India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel. Morkel has made it clear that there is not the slightest concern in the team camp regarding Rohit’s form.

Coach Morkel expressed confidence in Rohit Sharma, saying, “Batting against the new ball is extremely difficult initially, and we’ve seen this throughout the series, as the ball is moving around quite a bit. There’s no doubt Rohit will figure it out soon. He’s done it before and has a wealth of experience. He brings a calm and composed atmosphere to the batting order. So, we have no concerns or worries about the way he’s progressing.”

Virat Kohli on the verge of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record

Virat Kohli will have the opportunity to break a 19-year-old record in the third ODI against England. The third and decisive match of the series between India and England will be played at the historic Lord’s ground. In fact, by scoring a century in this match, Virat Kohli could become the fastest player in ODI cricket history to reach 15,000 runs.

So far, Sachin Tendulkar is the only batsman in ODI cricket history to have reached the 15,000-run mark. He reached the milestone in his 377th ODI innings in 2007. Nineteen years have passed, but Sachin’s record remains unbroken.

Virat Kohli is very close to breaking this record. He has scored 14,867 runs in 301 innings in his career so far. If he scores 133 runs in the third ODI against England at Lord’s, he will become the fastest batsman in history to reach 15,000 ODI runs.

Rohit and Virat to pull off a ‘Messi-like’ feat in the 2027 World Cup: Kaif

Former Indian cricketer and current commentator Mohammad Kaif has come out in support of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Kaif compared these Indian legends to Argentine football star Lionel Messi, who is just one step away from winning a second consecutive FIFA World Cup. He argued that just as Messi is playing a pivotal role for his team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup using his vast experience, the experience of Rohit and Virat could prove crucial for India in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Mohammad Kaif cited the example of legendary footballer Lionel Messi to explain why Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are essential for India in the 2027 World Cup. Kaif said, “Experience will be invaluable in the 2027 World Cup. Why are we discussing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma? Because it won’t be an easy World Cup. Conditions will be different, pitches will be bouncy, and India will need both these players there.”

Comparing Messi to Rohit and Virat, he further said, “Messi is 39 years old, and his team has reached the final for the second consecutive time. If you watched the semi-final match, you would realize that he didn’t just focus on scoring goals; instead, he used his game intelligence to create opportunities for his teammates. He didn’t score the goals himself, but the two goals that were scored happened thanks to him. He played a supporting role—he provided the passes, and others scored. During the match, three or four opposing players are constantly occupied with trying to stop Messi. In such situations, he uses his vision to pass the ball, allowing his teammates to score. That kind of experience is a team’s greatest strength.”
