Sri Lanka women’s captain keen to “keep going”
The new head coach of Sri Lanka women’s team Jamie Siddon said that Chamari Athapaththu was not retiring anytime soon. While her future has been a constant topic of debate, the new coach is optimistic about Athapaththu’s career. “Chamari, I’ve had a great chat with her. She is keen to play for a lot longer than one or two more years.” Siddons added, “In the last two practice matches, she’s dominated the games. She can keep going for a lot longer.”
The 36-year-old captain has been in good form recently leading her side to an ODI and T20I series win against West Indies. According to the coach, if she keeps working on her fitness, she can continue to dominate the international cricket. Speaking of post-Athapaththu planning, the coach reflected, “That’s exactly why I’m here, I think. To put together some plans where we can bring players in, teach them how the game is played.”

Voters were intimidated and procedural irregularities were rampant.” He further added that there were enough findings to dissolve the existing Bangladesh Cricket Board. He ended the briefing by naming 11 members of the new ad-hoc committee that will run the committee for next three months. Former Bangladesh captain, Tamil Iqbal is the new BCB president.
