England’s victory was an one-sided affair. At no point during the chase did the match seem out of their reach. Captain Harry Brooke played a masterful innings, scoring 79* off 35 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Phil Salt supported him with 59* off 42 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. The two shared an unbroken 146* for the second wicket in 68 balls, easily taking the team over the line.
England, chasing, lost their first wicket at 13 runs in the form of Jos Buttler, who was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh for just 8. After this, the Indian bowlers looked helpless against the English batsmen.
Shreyas Iyer top scored with 80 runs
In the match, India won the toss and decided to bowl first. The team failed to execute the captain’s decision. Iyer was in tremendous touch and led the team with an unbeaten 80 off 49 balls, hitting four fours and five sixes.
Apart from Iyer, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 15 runs, Abhishek Sharma scored 16 runs, Ishan Kishan scored 4 runs, Shivam Dubey scored 22 runs, Tilak Varma scored 11 runs, Washington Sundar scored 5 runs, and Axar Patel scored 1 run for Team India. Meanwhile, Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue took the maximum 2 wickets each for England.
