Abhishek Sharma goes past Rohit Sharma to join Virat Kohli to achieve all-time record

Abhishek Sharma has continued his rich form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with yet another vital contribution with the bat. He slammed his second IPL century for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), getting to the landmark in just 47 deliveries.

With this century, he has joined Virat Kohli in registering the joint-most centuries in T20 cricket with nine tons to his name. He went past Rohit Sharma to achieve this feat.

7 KL Rahul
7 Sanju Samson

Abhishek has been in excellent form in IPL 2026. He may have registered a couple of ducks, but outside that, he has 48 vs KKR, 74 vs PBKS, and 59 vs CSK.

This is also his second IPL century for SRH, on par with Heinrich Klaasen and David Warner. He also became the fourth player to register 2,000 runs for SRH after Warner (4,014), Shikhar Dhawan (2,518) and Kane Williamson (2,101).

The 25-year-old made his debut in 2019 and since then, he has been among the most consistent and destructive batters in the IPL. His good showing in the IPL earned him his maiden India cap in 2024. He has gone on to score 1,438 runs at 33.33 to go with a strike rate of 190.46. He played a key role in helping India retain their T20 World Cup title in 2026.

In the ongoing season, SRH are fourth on the points table with three wins from six matches. A win tonight will take them to the second spot.
