Ben Curran carried his bat through the innings as Zimbabwe registered a 13-wicket win in the second One-Day International (ODI) against Bangladesh in Harare. The opener scored an unbeaten 111 off 135 deliveries, including nine fours, to guide Zimbabwe to a competitive 247/6.

He found excellent help down the order as Brad Evans finished with 58* off just 38 deliveries. The duo put on 99 off just 79 deliveries for the seventh wicket to give Zimbabwe the edge.

Curran, Evans deliver

Evans got to his fifty off just 32 deliveries. Moreover, he smashed 22 runs off the final over of the innings against Taskin Ahmed, which proved to be the difference in the end. Curran, on the other hand, was a little more circumspect, bringing up his second ODI century in 122 balls.

Before Evans, he put on a useful 68-run stand with Sikandar Raza (33), after Zimbabwe were reduced to 66/4 in the 17th over.

Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up a couple of wickets apiece, while Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain chipped in with a wicket each.

Bangladesh fumble

Bangladesh seemed to be on their way at 169/3 in 36 overs, but things fell apart after Towhid Hridoy was dismissed for 60. They lost their last seven wickets for just 65 runs, handing Zimbabwe another win.

Other than Hridoy, Tanzid Hasan Tamim (57), Nurul Hasan (38) and Miraz (27) were among the runs. Richard Ngarava led from the front with 3/55, while Blessing Muzarabani and Evans picked up a couple of wickets each.

Zimbabwe won the first ODI by 25 runs, successfully defending 141. With the series in the bag, Zimbabwe would look to complete a whitewash when they clash against Bangladesh in the third ODI in Harare on July 11 (Saturday).
