Bumrah will bounce back, says pollard
A major reason behind the Mumbai Indians’ lackluster performance in IPL 2026 is the failure of their star players to perform up to expectations—a list that includes Jasprit Bumrah, who has managed to claim only 2 wickets across 8 matches. Amidst this slump in form, Mumbai Indians’ batting coach, Kieron Pollard, has now issued a significant statement regarding the situation.
Kieron Pollard commented on Jasprit Bumrah’s form, stating: “Having known Jasprit Bumrah personally, I am confident that he will bounce back to reach even greater heights and continue taking wickets. We all hope that he returns to form soon and recaptures his old rhythm, but for the time being, we should give him a little space and time.”
MCC justifies Raghuvanshi’s controversial dismissal against LSG
The 38th league match of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League was played between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 26 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, concluding in a highly thrilling finish. KKR ultimately won the match in a Super Over. During the match against LSG—while KKR was batting first—their player Angkrish Raghuvanshi was adjudged ‘out’ by the third umpire under the ‘Obstructing the Field’ rule when the team score stood at 27; this decision sparked considerable debate at the time. Now, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC)—the custodian of the Laws of Cricket—has weighed in on the matter, addressing whether or not the third umpire’s decision was correct.
The Marylebone Cricket Club has fully upheld the third umpire’s decision to adjudge Angkrish Raghuvanshi ‘out’ under the ‘Obstructing the Field’ rule. In a statement issued on the matter, the MCC clarified that a batsman can be given out only if they deliberately attempt to obstruct or distract the fielding team. According to Law 37.1.1, if a batsman deliberately obstructs the fielding side—either by word or by action—they shall be adjudged ‘out’ under the ‘Obstructing the Field’ rule. According to the MCC, Raghuvanshi’s dismissal was correct because he initially began running on the off-side. He then moved toward the center of the pitch before changing direction. Subsequently, he veered toward the leg-side, thereby positioning himself directly between the ball and the wicket. The MCC stated that crossing the pitch and altering one’s running path in such a manner is deemed a “deliberate act.”
