IPL 2026: Fitness woes keep MS Dhoni out of CSK’s clash against Delhi Capitals

IPL 2026: The troubles for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2026 don’t seem to be ending. The Yellow Army has played three matches so far this season and has lost all three. MS Dhoni’s injury has been the biggest blow for Chennai this season. Dhoni was ruled out of the first few matches due to a calf injury. Meanwhile, CSK officials have confirmed that Dhoni is undergoing rehab to recover from the injury and it may take at least another week for him to be fully fit to play, which means he will miss the DC game.

Dhoni will take some time to get fit

Kasi Viswanathan said that MS Dhoni is going through rehab and that process will take some time for him to get fit. According to the words of the Chennai CEO, “MS is undergoing rehab and it will take some time. We can’t say how much time.” Actually, talks around his return had gathered pace after visuals of him training in the nets surfaced online, raising hopes among fans of an imminent comeback.

According to Cricbuzz, MS Dhoni is currently in Chennai and his family is also with him. Dhoni has not been seen with the CSK team in any of the matches so far. Chennai played their first match against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. Dhoni did not travel to Guwahati for that match. In the second match, they played against Punjab Kings at their home ground, Chepauk. Dhoni was not with the team there either. Dhoni was also not seen with the team in Bengaluru during the match against RCB.

Chennai Super Kings are currently at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table, having lost all three matches so far. Previously, Chennai lost the first four matches of the season in 2022, when Ravindra Jadeja captained Chennai. This season, Chennai, under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad, will not want to repeat that unwanted record. They will be trying their best to win the match against the Delhi Capitals.
