Young Indian batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has captivated everyone with his explosive batting. Everyone is acknowledging his talent. This includes South Africa’s Dale Steyn, who often causes headaches for batsmen with his explosive bowling. What Steyn has to say about Vaibhav is surprising.
Vaibhav thrashed bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in IPL 2026. He won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs, and as a result, he earned a place in India’s T20 squad for the Ireland-England tour.
Vaibhav is ahead of Virat-Sachin

Speaking ahead of Season 5 of the SA20, Steyn said that Vaibhav is a much more talented player than others his age. “You think of Sachin and Virat, but this guy is even more dangerous. By the end of his career, he will surpass both of them,” Steyn said.
When Steyn was asked if there was a player like Vaibhav in his country, Steyn said, “I don’t think there’s a 14-15-year-old wonderkid in South Africa, and even if there is, I don’t know. I don’t have the kind of eye that the local scouts have. But one thing I can say is that there’s no dearth of talent in South Africa.”
He said, “The system we have is producing many talented players. We have many great players coming out of the Under-19 and Under-15 levels. But Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a different and brilliant player. He is better than many of the great international players of today. He is a true wonder boy and a treasure of Indian cricket.”
