16-year-old Indian gets a place in the Australian team

The Australia Under-19 team will tour India starting September 13th for a multi-format series, for which Cricket Australia announced the squad on Monday, August 3rd. The inclusion of 16-year-old Neil Patel in the squad has caught everyone’s attention.

Neil plays for South Wales, Australia. He is of Indian descent. This series has given him a significant opportunity. He plays as an opening batsman and also as an off-spinner. Neil was born and raised in Australia, but his ancestors are from Gujarat, India.

Akhilesh Reddy banned from cricket for eight years

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed an eight-year ban on US international player Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy for violating its anti-corruption code. The 26-year-old Hyderabad-born Reddy has been a net bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad in India and a member of the Vijay Hazare Trophy team. He has played four international matches for the United States.

Akhilesh was found guilty of three serious charges: attempting to fix a match, inciting another player, and obstructing an investigation during the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025 held in the UAE. The ICC Tribunal’s ban will be effective from November 21, 2025, when Reddy was first provisionally suspended. Following this decision, Reddy will be barred from participating in any level of cricket or related activities until November 21, 2033, by which time he will be over 34 years old.

Rohit Sharma praises T Dilip for his role as fielding coach

A major change has occurred in Team India’s coaching staff. Fielding coach T Dilip’s contract has ended. The BCCI has not extended his contract this time, instead appointing Shubhdeep Ghosh as the new fielding coach. Former World Cup-winning captain of Team India, Rohit Sharma, reacted to this change. The Hitman wrote a very eloquent piece about T Dilip.

Rohit shared a photo with T. Dilip on his Instagram story. He captioned the photo, “Dilip Guru, you are a legend. You created magic in the group and worked hard behind the scenes. Congratulations on your future.” It’s worth noting that T Dilip first took over as Team India’s fielding coach in 2021. This was during the same period when Rahul Dravid was head coach. T Dilip replaced R. Sridhar.

Rashid’s magic helps MI London to win over Super Giants

Rashid Khan has demonstrated his prowess with his spin on grounds across the world. Even in England, where fast bowlers dominate, batsmen dance to Rashid’s tune. He has proven this once again. This is the case in England’s league, The Hundred, where this Afghan spinner is playing for MI London and has accomplished a feat that is not easy.

MI London faced the Super Giants. London won the match by 45 runs, thanks to Rashid Khan’s key performance. Rashid took five wickets in the match, helping the Super Giants collapse to 138 runs against London’s target of 184.

Pakistani captain Babar Azam creates history

Pakistan captain Babar Azam reached a major milestone in his career during the second Test against the West Indies . This match, being played at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, marked his 150th international match as captain. With this, Babar became the third player to captain Pakistan in 150 or more international matches. Before Babar Azam, only Imran Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq had captained Pakistan in more than 150 international matches. Imran Khan led Pakistan in 187 matches, while Misbah-ul-Haq led the team in 151. Now, Babar has also joined this elite list.
