Gujarat Titans (GT) wicketkeeper Jos Buttler scripted history when he took the catch to dismiss Angkrish Raghuvanshi during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 17 (Friday). Buttler became the first Englishman to complete 300 catches in T20 cricket.
In fact, only three other players have more catches than Buttler in T20s.
Most catches in T20s
405 – Kieron Pollard (735 matches)
332 – David Miller (561 matches)
316 – Quinton de Kock (440 matches)
300 – Jos Buttler (498 matches)
275 – Dwayne Bravo (582 matches)
Among the 300 catches, Buttler has taken 215 as a wicketkeeper. Only Dinesh Karthik (218), MS Dhoni (225) and Quinton de Kock (298) have taken more catches behind the wickets. With the bat, Buttler is one of just five players to have scored more than 14,000 runs in the format.
Buttler is in good form in IPL 2026 as well, having slammed two fifties in four matches so far. He has 176 runs at 44 to his name to go with a strike rate of 158.55. GT are currently in sixth spot on the IPL 2026 table with two wins in four matches. A win tonight will take them into the top four.
