Gujarat Titans beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets

Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 5 wickets on Friday in IPL 2026. Captain Shubman Gill played a match-winning inning of 86 runs and also scored a hat-trick of half-centuries in IPL 2026. His 86 runs also earned him the Orange Cap. In the match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, KKR batted first and scored 180 runs. In response, Gujarat secured a 5-wicket victory in the final over.

Gujarat achieved a hat-trick of victories in this win. They lost their first two matches in IPL 2026, but have won their last three matches to move into fourth place in the points table. The Kolkata Knight Riders have added another shameful record to their name. This is their seventh consecutive defeat in the Indian Premier League. This is KKR’s fifth loss in six matches in IPL 2026, with one match being washed out due to rain. Kolkata has yet to register a single win in the season.

Gujarat sign South African batsman Conor Esterhuizen

The Gujarat Titans played their fifth match of IPL 2026 today against the Kolkata Knight Riders and won the clash by 5 wickets. Ahead of this match, a new player has joined the GT squad. Gujarat announced the replacement for Tom Banton. The franchise has signed young South African batsman Conor Esterhuizen.

Banton was ruled out of the tournament due to a finger injury. GT has now finally signed Esterhuizen as his replacement. The 24-year-old recently made his international debut against New Zealand. He scored 200 runs in the five-match T20 series between New Zealand and South Africa. His performance helped the Proteas defeat the Kiwis 3-2 in their home series.

IPL ticket black marketing busted at Chinnaswamy Stadium, canteen staff arrested

A canteen employee at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium has been arrested for allegedly selling Indian Premier League (IPL) tickets at inflated prices. The arrest has exposed a massive black market network involving corporate entities and insiders.

The accused, identified as Chandrashekhar, worked at the Sri Lakshmi canteen inside the stadium. Officers from the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) caught him while he was allegedly selling more than 180 IPL tickets in black. Each ticket was being sold for between ₹15,000 and ₹19,000. According to the police, these tickets were for the much-hyped IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 15.
