Chennai Super Kings won by 32 runs against KKR
In the 22nd league match of IPL 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Chennai, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs. This was Chennai’s second consecutive win, while Kolkata is still searching for its first victory of the season. Having played five matches, KKR suffered its fourth defeat. One of their matches was abandoned due to rain. In today’s match, Kolkata won the toss and elected to bowl.
Batting first, Chennai posted a total of 192 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Sanju Samson played the highest innings for the team, scoring 48 runs in 32 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes. Furthermore, Brevis crossed the 40-run mark and scored 41 runs. Chasing the run-chase, Kolkata could only reach 160 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ramandeep Singh played a big innings of 35 runs for the team, but could not secure victory. Noor Ahmed took the most wickets for Chennai, taking three. Anshul Kamboj took the remaining two wickets. Khalil Ahmed and Aqeel Hussain took one wicket each.
Pooran will regain form soon, says tom Moody
Tom Moody, the global director of cricket for Lucknow Super Giants, says he’s optimistic about Nicholas Pooran finding his rhythm again. Pooran, the team’s big-hitting West Indian, hasn’t hit his stride this IPL season—his best so far is just 19. Moody hopes that turns around soon. “Nicky is fully aware of the slow start he’s had,” Moody said on Tuesday. “But we’ve got 100% confidence in what he brings to the table. Class is permanent and I’m sure that the opportunity tomorrow night (Wednesday), at a venue where top-order players can enjoy, could well be the tonic that he needs.”
Fans are also waiting to see 23-year-old speedster Mayank Yadav make his first appearance this IPL. With his past injuries, the team’s been handling him with extra care. Last time he played in Bengaluru back in April 2024, he lit up the ground—bowling over 150 kmph, grabbing three wickets for just 14 runs, and leading LSG to a 28-run win. Moody said, “He’s ready to go. He didn’t jump into our thought processes early in the tournament purely because he was still a little bit underdone. His fitness was good, but just in terms of bowling and the loads that any bowler needs to feel comfortable at the crease.”
Adelaide Oval plan to host an IPL game in 2027
There’s a bold new idea floating around, hosting a regular-season IPL match to the Adelaide Oval in Australia. According to journalist Tom Morris on SEN Cricket, Adelaide Oval chairman Jamie Briggs and SACA boss Will Rayner have already started talking with key people to make it happen.
Honestly, this feels a bit like tit for tat. The Big Bash League wants to kick off their next season at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, probably in the second week of December 2026. So, taking the IPL to Adelaide seems like a way to return the favour.
If one is thinking about when this could actually work, March is the sweet spot for the weather in Adelaide. Plus, the Adelaide Oval can switch over to an AFL field in just two days, which helps avoid any major scheduling headaches with Australia’s top football league.
