Rwanda batter scripted T20 International (T20I) history with an unbeaten 164 off just 65 balls against the Ivory Coast on May 24 (Sunday). Opening the batting for Rwanda in Gaborone in the T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier A, Hamza smashed nine fours and 15 sixes and struck at 252.30.
In doing so, he fell just short of Aaron Finch’s record of most runs in a T20I innings.

Riding on Hamza’s massive ton, Rwanda hit 288/2 – the seventh highest total in T20Is. However, Ivory Coast were bowled out for just 17, which is the fifth-lowest total in T20Is. Incidentally, the Ivory Coast hold the record for the lowest total in the format.
