IND vs AFG: The first T20 International match between the Afghanistan cricket team and the Indian cricket team (IND vs AFG) will be played on September 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Indian team, led by Shreyas Iyer, will aim to win this match and take the lead in the series. On the other hand, the team led by Ibrahim Zadran will be looking to strike back.

So far in the T20 Internationals, the Indian team has been seen dominating in the clashes between the two teams. A total of 9 T20 International matches have been played between the two teams, out of which India has won 8 (including Super Over), while one match was inconclusive. The last time the two teams faced each other was in the T20 World Cup 2024 , which India won by 47 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah set to return to the Indian team

Jasprit Bumrah is set to return to the Indian team, having not played a match since the 2026 T20 World Cup. He will be seen handling the bowling responsibility. Among the batsmen, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may get a chance and Sanju Samson may be seen on the bench.

Due to the good all-rounder, the Afghan team looks very strong on paper. Experienced players like Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan will want to prove their worth in Indian conditions. In batting, Rahmanullah Gurbaz will have the responsibility of giving a good start to the team.
