Virat Kohli disappointed the Indian fans in the first ODI against England. He was dismissed for just 5 runs off 6 balls, including one four, LBW by Jofra Archer. Although Kohli’s performance was poor, he achieved a significant milestone. As he walked out at Edgbaston in Birmingham, he created history, playing his 300th international innings in ODIs. He became the fifth Indian player to achieve this milestone.
By reaching this historic milestone, he inscribed his name in golden letters in the list of great Indian legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin and Sourav Ganguly. This is Virat Kohli’s 312th ODI match, marking his 300th innings as he stepped out to bat. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most ODI innings played for India. In world cricket, Sachin Tendulkar (452) is followed by Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya (433) and Mahela Jayawardene (418).
Axar Patel creates history on English soil
Axar Patel has performed wonders for India. In the first ODI at Edgbaston, Axar bowled brilliantly. The English batsmen looked helpless against his spin. He bowled a historic spell, achieving a milestone in his ODI career that he had never achieved before. Axar bowled accurately, taking four crucial wickets for 62 runs in 9.5 overs. This is his first four-wicket haul of his ODI career.
In this match, Axar Patel not only delivered the best performance of his career, but also set a unique record. Patel became only the second Indian spinner in ODI cricket history to take four wickets between overs 41 and 50 (the death overs). “We would have chased 320”: Shubman Gill
Team India registered a resounding 6-wicket win in the first ODI between India and England and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the Indian team bundled out England for 258 runs, after which they achieved the target in 45.2 overs.
Indian captain Shubman Gill attributed the decision to bowl first after winning the toss to the team’s combination. “Honestly, it was about our combination. We have a relatively young bowling attack, so our batting is still more experienced than our bowling. In the first match of the series, we wanted to bowl first so that even if we were given a target of 320, we had full confidence in our batting that we would achieve it,” Gill said after the match.
Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar used to supply drugs in India!
In a shocking revelation, it has been claimed that several Pakistani cricketers, including former legendary Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar, used to supply drugs to India.
