A dominating all-round performance from India A women won the third ODI against England A women by 59 runs at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton and recorded a 2-1 series victory.

India A women set a solid target for the hosts

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India A got off to a flying start. Openers Priya Punia and Tanisha Singh neutralized the new ball effortlessly, punishing the English pacers. The duo stitched together a commanding 116-run partnership for the first wicket and laid a solid foundation for the rest of the lineup.

Punia fell first for a well-made 61 off 68 balls with 6 boundaries, closely followed by Tanisha Singh, who compiled a steady 58 off 72 deliveries with seven shots at the ropes. Grace Scrivens broke the dangerous opening stand, removing both set batters to temporarily restrict the flow.

Captain Harleen Deol led the recovery with a patient 39 off 53 balls, while Tejal Hasabnis added 24 to keep the scoreboard moving. Late cameos shifted the momentum firmly India’s way, with Minnu Mani striking a rapid 31 off 23 balls and Niki Prasad adding a brisk 34 off 29. For England-A, Grace Scrivens and Charley Phillips claimed two wickets each. India A women finished on a strong 281/7, with all their top six batters passing 20.

India bowlers dismantle the England batting line

Defending 281, India A women struck early. Medium-pacer Sayali Satghare removed Ella McCaughan in the third over for 0. England A women then struggled to establish meaningful momentum early on, hampered by regular breakthroughs from the Indian spin duo of Minnu Mani and Tanuja Kanwar. At 43/3, the hosts looked in deep trouble.

Grace Scrivens fought back with a resilient 46, partnering with the captain Kira Chathli (39) to stabilize the England innings. However, it was Charis Pavely who provided the real fireworks for the home crowd. Coming in at number six, Pavely took the attack to the Indian bowlers and smashed a brilliant 62 off 52 balls, decorated with 5 boundaries and 2 massive sixes.

Just as Pavely started threatening, India’s left-arm spinner Priya Mishra and right-arm quick Sayali Satghare struck in the lower order. Pavely’s dismissal effectively ended England A’s resistance, and the tail could not keep pace with the rising required run rate losing last 3 wickets for just 14 runs. England A women were bowled out for 222 in 45.2 overs, giving India A a dominant 59-run win. The spinners Minnu Mani and Vaishnavi Sharma picked up 3 wickets each whereas Satghare and Tanuja Kanwar, each took 2 apiece.

The visitors will be pleased to seal the ODI seires 2-1 after losing the T20 series by the same margin, bringing a demanding tour to a successful close.
