Virat Kohli has been the epitome of consistency in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has scored over 9,000 runs and has the most 50-plus scores in the tournament’s history. On May 31 (Sunday) in Ahmedabad, he added another feather to his cap when he became the first player in the IPL to have hit 600 runs in four consecutive seasons.
Neither Rohit Sharma nor MS Dhoni – two players who have played in every season since the tournament’s inception – have achieved this rare feat.

The runs started off with him scoring 639 in 2023, and followed that up with 741 runs in 2024 and in 2025, he smashed 657 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their maiden title.
Kohli’s golden run continues
This season, he has gone past 600 again for the sixth time in his IPL career, for the fourth time in as many seasons.
The RCB batter is the fourth-highest run-getter this season, behind Sai Sudharsan (722), Shubman Gill (732) and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (776). Kohli has also hit five fifties and a century in the season. His fifth fifty came in the IPL final against the Gujarat Titans (GT) – his fastest in IPL history.
Even in Qualifier 1 against the same opposition, he made an impact with 43 off 25 as RCB went on to pile on 254/5, and claimed a 92-run victory to make it to the final.
RCB are the defending champions, having won the 2024 edition against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the same venue.
