Dhoni unlikely to feature in next CSK game

MS Dhoni is set to miss the next match of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026 against Delhi Capitals. Eric Simon, the bowling coach confirmed that Dhoni has not travelled with the squad. “Update on MS Dhoni is way above my pay grade. He’s not with us (in Delhi) but steadily improving. He’ll be ready when he’s ready, and he knows when he’s ready to play,” Simons said.

Dhoni, who is yet to feature this season due to a calf injury, is said to be improving steadily. However, there has been no clear communication on the same from the team management. Dhoni has been practicing in the nets but staying in his hotel room even during matches at Chepauk Stadium. Meanwhile, there are also talks about his retirement following the fitness issues he has been facing lately.

James Hopes joins Sydney Sixers as their head coach for BBL

Sydney Sixers have appointed former Australia white-ball allrounder James Hopes as their new BBL coach. Hopes is currently working with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League as their bowling coach. During his 16-year-old first-class career, Hopes played 84 ODIs and 12 T20Is for Australia and also captained Queensland to Shield and One-Day titles.

“I’m incredibly honoured to join the Sydney Sixers, a club with a proud history and a strong identity built on consistency, competitiveness and connection with its fans,” he said. “I’m excited to work with a talented playing group and contribute to the next phase of the Sixers’ success in the BBL.”

Vaishnavi Sharma said that she has a lot to experience after being snubbed from India Women’s T20 World Cup squad. Vaishnavi who quickly made it to the senior team after playing a key role during India’s U19 triumph, said, “I believe that it’s okay if it hasn’t happened yet, there’s no problem. It’s all part of God’s plan. I still have a lot to learn, and there’s plenty of cricket ahead of me. It’s just the beginning, and there’s so much more experience to gain. Whatever happens will be for the best.”

At an event, the 20-year-old, further added, “Right now, my goal is to focus on my mental space, finding some peace, staying calm, and understanding myself better. I want to work on identifying my weaknesses and strengths, and learn as much as I can about myself.”
