England announce 15-member squad for Women’s T20 World Cup
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced its 15-player squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup on Monday. The same squad will be playing in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand and India. An 18-year-old uncapped left-arm spinner, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, has been picked in the squad led by Nat Sciver-Brunt. Tammy Beaumont, who captained England in their last T20I, has been left out of the side. “This is the hardest set of selection meetings I have been a part of because the pool of players to choose from is so strong and so many talented players have put their hand up to be a part of the squad, which is exactly what we want. That is the nature of world-class sport, and it is a privilege we don’t take lightly to be able to make these difficult decisions,” Charlotte Edwards, the head coach, said.
England Squad for T20 World Cup: Nat Sciver-Brunt, Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Dani Gibson, Amy Jones, Freya Kemp, Heather Knight, Linsey Smith, Issy Wong, Danni Wyatt-Hodge
