Afghan players set for a rigorous training camp under new head coach
Richard Pybus arrived in Kabul recently for the national team’s upcoming skill development and training camp. He met with the officials from the Selection Committee, the International, and Domestic Cricket departments including Hashmatullah Shahidi and Ibrahim Zadran, the national team captains,. The discussions primarily focused on upcoming FTP fixtures, strategies, and specifically, the commencement and management of the upcoming training camp. The camp is expected to scheduled to run between April 12 and May 16, featuring nearly 40 players set to undergo rigorous, comprehensive preparation under the direct supervision of the new Head Coach.
While speaking to the mean, Pybus spoke about Rashid’s red-ball cricket career. He told Cricbuzz, “Well, look, this is all about his physical condition, you know? I’m yet to go through the players in the different formats with the selectors. But in terms of his history with his back and where he’s come from, it is about player management. So, there’s never a desire to risk a player’s health or the long-term health, for workloads which aren’t sustainable.”
Bangladesh squad for opening two games against New Zealand announced
Bangladesh cricket board announced the squad for the first two ODIs against New Zealand. Habibul Basha, chief of Bangladesh Cricket Board’s selection committee said, “It’s not like we want to select the playing XI, but we want to give our inputs. When we prepare the squad, we speak to the coach and the captain.” He further added, “After reviewing the last series (Pakistan series), we felt it was a successful one. Bangladesh played good cricket. Some players didn’t get opportunities in the XI, and there were also new faces in the setup.”

Nepal Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association demands action against Karan KC
The Nepal Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association condemned the tweet by Nepali national team fast bowler Karan KC. The association issued a press release after a meeting on Sunday and demanded strict action against the player from the Cricket Association of Nepal. His comment was regarding physical assault on umpires that read, ““If any player beats an umpire mistakenly, how many matches would he be banned for? Just for query? P.S – For Players knowledge and safety.”
Karan KC’s post came regarding Bagmati’s skipper Sandeep Lamichhane getting disappointed over an umpiring decision during the Men’s PM Cup on Friday. The statement issued by the association read, ‘We have demanded strict action from the Cricket Association of Nepal to discourage such acts.’
