The Proteas cruised to a 6-wicket win after Corbin Bosch (3/12) helped restrict the UAE to a modest 122/6. South Africa made short work of the target, chasing it down in just 13.2 overs thanks to aggressive cameos from Aiden Markram and Dewald Brevis (36).
Ranji Trophy Semifinal Updates
Jammu & Kashmir beat Bengal by six wickets to reach their maiden Ranji Trophy final. Pacer Auqib Nabi was the hero, claiming a sensational 9-wicket match haul (5/87 and 4/36). He has now taken 55 wickets this season. J&K completed the chase comfortably despite the early setbacks triggered by Mohammed Shami and Akash Deep.
Karnataka showed absolute dominance on Day 4 and effectively sealed the spot in the final of the Ranji Trophy final this season. Ravichandran Smaran scored second century of the game while KL Rahul and Kruthik Krishna smashed quick fifties to take the Karnataka lead to 802 runs.
Dilshan replaces Pathirana in T20 WC 2026
Dilshan Madushanka was named the replacement for Sri Lanka fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana who was ruled out of the T20 World Cup following a caff strain. Pathirana’s IPL availability is also doubtful at this stage as the strain may take several weeks to heal. The replacement news came on the eve of Sri Lanka’s final group game against Zimbabwe.
New Bangladesh Government to be “tolerant and flexible” with Shakib and Mashrafe
Bangladesh’s new sports minister Aminul Haque said that the government will fast track the procedures in the cases against Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza. The idea is to be “tolerant and flexible” for the two former Awami League members of parliament so that they can return to cricket swiftly.
“The government will deal with the matter concerning Shakib and Mashrafe. We will remain tolerant and flexible on them,” Haque said. “The cases against them will be handled by the government. We want Shakib to return [to Bangladesh]. We hope those will be resolved swiftly so they can return. We also want Shakib and Mashrafe back in Bangladesh cricket.”
CA exploring possibilities of hosting BBL next season games in India
Cricket Australia is exploring the possibility of hosting the opening match and a few games of the next Big Bash League in India. As per report, two BBL executives Phil Rigby and Margot Harley along with CA production executive Richard Ostroff visited India to assess the situations and visited the M.A Chidambaram Stadium. They met with a few officials of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association as well.
