UAE beat Malaysia by one-run to qualify for U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027

The UAE women’s cricket team qualified for the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup after defeating hosts Malaysia by 1 run. The final of the Asia Qualifier was played at the Bayer Oval. Batting first, the UAE were all out for 95 in 19.3 overs.

However, they won the match by restricting Malaysia to 94 for 6 in 20 overs. The eight-team regional qualifier began on July 23. The Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup has been played in two editions so far, with India winning both editions in 2023 and 2025.

UAE won all the 5 matches

The UAE won their first match against Hong Kong and China by 37 runs under Duckworth-Lewis. They then defeated Malaysia by 39 runs and Qatar by 81 runs. They defeated Bhutan by 73 runs in the semi-finals to reach the final.

In the final, Al Masirah Jahangir produced a superb all-round performance, scoring 31 runs off 34 balls and taking 2 wickets for 12 runs. He was named Man of the Match. The 2027 tournament will be the third edition of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Nepal and Bangladesh will be the co-host nations. A total of 16 teams will participate.
