“Vaibhav’s philosophy is somewhat similar to mine”: Sehwag
Team India’s young sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, has captivated the entire world with his explosive batting. At just 15 years old, Vaibhav has carved a niche for himself in world cricket and is currently one of the most talked-about players in the world. Meanwhile, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, impressed by Vaibhav’s aggressive batting, has made a significant statement.
According to news agency PTI, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag praised Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on Saturday (October 10). Sehwag said that Vaibhav’s batting philosophy is very similar to his own. He said, “Vaibhav is in his prime and his philosophy is somewhat similar to mine. That is, hitting powerful shots from the very first ball.” Sehwag also expressed his excitement about Vaibhav’s future. He said that it will be interesting to see when he gets a chance to play for the Indian team and how many matches he is able to play in his career.
‘Just use a bowling machine’, Yuzvendra Chahal slams flat pitches
The second T20 match between India and West Indies played in Ranchi saw a rain of runs. In this match, Team India, batting first, scored a huge total of 249 runs in 20 overs. Looking at the big target of 250 runs, it seemed that India’s victory was certain, but West Indies captain Shai Hope turned the whole match around with his stormy batting. Hope played a brilliant century innings of 102 runs not out in 45 balls. Apart from him, Sherfane Rutherford scored 84 runs in 37 balls.
Now, this high-scoring match has reignited the debate about the increasing dominance of batsmen in T20 cricket. Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal expressed his displeasure with the difficulties faced by bowlers on flat pitches. He said that if such pitches are to be created, bowling machines should be deployed instead of bowlers.
Aliss Al Islam included in Bangladesh squad for ODI tri-series
Aliss Al Islam, who made his debut for the Bangladesh national team in the T20 format at the Asian Games, has now earned a call-up to the ODI squad. Today, Bangladesh announced the team for the tri-nation series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe; the ‘mystery spinner’ has been included in the 16-member squad led by Liton Das.
Explaining the decision to include Aliss, Chief Selector Habibul Bashar told, “We wanted to see some mystery spin in the ODI format as well. Aliss performed well in this format in South Africa. There were some concerns regarding his fielding, but he has improved in that area too. Taking everything into account, we decided to include him in the squad.”
