Jayakumar set to join LSG as batting coach

Lucknow Super Giants have already begun major preparations to win the IPL 2027 trophy. Lucknow first traded Rishabh Pant and replaced him with Kuldeep Yadav. Following this, plans are also underway to appoint former Karnataka player G. Jayakumar, who played a key role in developing batsmen like Sai Sudarshan, as batting coach.

Speaking of Jayakumar, he is a former cricketer from Kerala. He played a significant role in developing batsmen like Sai Su Darshan for India . He has agreed to work with the Lucknow Super Giants and may be seen in the team’s dugout next season.

Stephen Fleming to continue as CSK head coach

There will be no changes to Chennai Super Kings’ top management despite the disappointing IPL 2026 season. During the previous edition, there was speculation that the franchise might part ways with head coach Stephen Fleming, but the latest updates suggest that this will not happen. Fleming has been associated with CSK since 2008 and ranks among the league’s most successful coaches.

Some reports claimed the franchise might look for a new coach for the upcoming season. However, all such speculation now appears to have been put to rest; Fleming is set to be back in the ‘Yellow Army’s’ dugout for at least the next season.

Sikandar Raza to miss Zimbabwe’s Test against Bangladesh

Zimbabwe Cricket has announced a 15-member squad for the one-off Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled to begin on June 28 at the Harare Sports Club. Fast bowler Richard Ngarava will be seen leading the Zimbabwe team in Test cricket for the first time during this match. The most notable absentee from the squad is star all-rounder Sikandar Raza; he is unavailable for this Test due to his commitments with Worcestershire during the T20 Blast tournament in England.

This match holds special significance for Richard Ngarava, who took over the Test and ODI captaincy from Craig Ervine in December 2025 and is now set to make his debut as Test captain. He played a pivotal role—taking five wickets—in Zimbabwe’s historic Test victory over Afghanistan in October 2025. In that match, Zimbabwe secured a win by an innings and 73 runs, driven by a magnificent century from Ben Curran and lethal bowling from Brad Evans.

Zimbabwe squad:

Richard Ngarava (Captain), Brian Bennett, Tanaka Chivanga, Graeme Cremer, Ben Curran, Craig Ervine, Brad Evans, Innocent Kaia, Roy Kaia, Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Blessing Muzarabani, Newman Nyamhuri, Brendan Taylor, Tafadzwa Tsiga.
