India-Afghanistan series schedule to change: Report
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for the T20 series against Afghanistan on Wednesday, August 12. According to the schedule, the three-match T20 series will begin on September 13. A report has revealed that the Afghanistan Cricket Board has made significant demands to the BCCI regarding changes to the series schedule.
The three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan will be played on September 13, September 15, and September 17. All three matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
According to India Today, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has requested that the first or second T20I be rescheduled to September 14th. It should be noted that September 14th is the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. If the schedule is changed, at least two matches will be played consecutively. However, the BCCI has not yet confirmed this.
“Australia could have been bowled out for 100”, says Steve Smith
Australia, considered the world’s most feared team, proved to be a sluggish against Bangladesh. The Kangaroos were bowled out for 198 on the first day, with Steve Smith scoring 71 runs. This is the first time in Test history that the Kangaroos have been bowled out for such a low total against Bangladesh. Previously, in 2017, Australia were all out for 217. Smith’s 71-run innings helped Australia reach 198. Had Smith been dismissed, the Kangaroos’ total would have been around 100, creating an embarrassing record. According to a video posted on X by cricket.com.au, when Smith was asked if the ball had hit his bat, he said, “I think so, yes.” Smith also said on his life-saving DRS decesion, “Was I lucky? Yes, I feel that way. Sometimes you have to accept it. It was quite good for me, maybe the ball didn’t hit the bat. I don’t know, but I definitely felt something. If I had been given out, I would have walked off the field. But, yes, I think technology saved me today.”
BCCI waiting government approval for India-Bangladesh series!
The schedule for the T20 series between India and Afghanistan has been released. The Afghan team will host Team India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Harry Brook ready to re-consider his stance on IPL
England’s aggressive batsman Harry Brook has made a significant change in his stance on the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has admitted that he may consider playing in the tournament in the future. Brook had previously clarified that his priority was international cricket and had refused to play in franchise leagues other than The Hundred. Before the T20 series against India last month, he had stated that he was completely dedicated to England cricket, but now his tone has changed.
During The Hundred, Brook said, “The IPL is a great competition, and you come out a better player. I’ll definitely consider it in the future.” Brook has had a chequered history with the IPL. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹13.25 crore in the 2023 auction, where he scored a century against the Kolkata Knight Riders in his debut season.
