CSK have become the most watched team in IPL 2026

Chennai Super Kings are back in form in IPL 2026, racking up three straight wins. They never really lose the crowd’s attention either. Ruturaj Gaikwad and his team have knocked out top opponents like defending champs Royal Challengers Bengaluru and five-time winners Mumbai Indians. That run hasn’t just worked on the field—it’s made them the most-watched and most talked-about team this season, especially on social media.

RCB usually draw massive crowds, both online and in the stadiums. But even with their huge popularity and a solid season, they haven’t managed to top either list this time. Star Sports, the tournament’s official broadcaster, says an average of 308 million people tune in for every CSK match. RCB come in second, with around 303 million viewers per game.

Delhi Police makes gang arrest in pre-match raid

Amidst the 2026 IPL season, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a major racket involved in the black marketing of IPL tickets. The police have arrested three individuals in connection with this black marketing operation. Following the arrests, the police recovered 54 match tickets—including 33 complimentary passes—from the three accused. The accused were selling the tickets on the black market by falsely posing as officials of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Acting decisively against the black marketing of IPL tickets, and based on credible intelligence received on May 8, a Crime Branch team led by ACP/ARSC Mr. Sanjay Kumar Nagpal laid a trap near Delhi Gate and apprehended three individuals. The police have arrested Muqeem, Gufran alias Sajid, and Mohammad Faisal. A total of 54 IPL tickets were recovered from their possession. An FIR, bearing No. 121/2026 and dated May 9, 2026, has been registered against the accused under Sections 316(2), 318(2), 319, 61(2), and 3(5) of the BNS at the Crime Branch Police Station, Delhi. The police are currently investigating the matter.
