IND vs AFG: The Indian team has been announced for the T20 series against Afghanistan. The three-match series will begin September 13th at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. A 15-member squad has been selected under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, including Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah hasn’t played a match since the England tour. However, he will be eligible to play only after passing a fitness test.
Sanju Samson returns to the team
Sanju Samson, who was left out of the T20 team on the Zimbabwe tour, has returned. Sanju was the hero of India’s victory in the T20 World Cup. However, after failing in the opening matches of the T20 series in Ireland and England, he was dropped from the playing eleven. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was included in the playing eleven in England in his place, but he also failed. Sanju got a chance to play in the last match. Vaibhav’s bat spoke loudly on the Zimbabwe tour and he was also the Player of the Series. Vaibhav has also been selected for the series against Afghanistan (IND vs AFG).
Fitness test of four players is pending
Four players have been included in Team India for the Afghanistan series, pending fitness tests. These players include Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, and Washington Sundar. These players will be eligible to play only after passing the fitness test before the series. Harshit and Nitish have also been injured for a long time. Sundar also missed the Sri Lanka tour due to injury.
Rinku Singh, who was part of Team India’s tour of Zimbabwe, has been dropped, along with Prince Yadav, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, Suryansh Shedge, Yash Thakur, Prabhsimran Singh, and Harsh Dubey. Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma also made their debuts for India on that tour . Prince Yadav was injured during the Zimbabwe tour.
