82-run opening partnership
Sai Sudharsan and Ayush Pandey gave India A a solid start, adding 82 runs for the first wicket. Even after Pandey’s dismissal, Sudharsan continued his excellent batting, steering the team towards a big total. Following Sudharsan’s departure, captain Dhruv Jurel and Shaik Rasheed took charge. Displaying a fine blend of composure and aggression, both batsmen scored unbeaten half-centuries. At stumps, Jurel (68) and Rasheed (53) remained at the crease; their unbroken partnership placed India A in a commanding position.
Sri Lankan bowlers proved ineffective

While left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera claimed two wickets for 98 runs in 29 overs, the other bowlers failed to contain the Indian lineup. India A scored at a rate of 3.87 runs per over across the 86 overs bowled on the first day, reflecting their aggressive yet disciplined batting approach.
In this four-day match, India A will aim to push their total beyond the 400-run mark on the second day. India A currently appears to be completely dominating the match and is in a position to post a massive first-innings score on the second day.
