UAE have handed a first senior-team call-up to highly-rated teenager Ayaan Misbah, as the 17-year-old top-order batter joins the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC CWC League 2 tri-series in Dallas. Misbah, who has represented UAE at Under-19 level, is regarded as one of the promising young prospects in UAE cricket and will now get an opportunity to make the step up to international cricket. His inclusion highlights the UAE’s focus on giving emerging talent exposure at the senior level.

Left-arm spinner Awais Ali Shah has also received his maiden senior call-up, with both youngsters travelling with the squad for the four-match campaign. Veteran batter Harpreet Singh Bhatia will captain UAE in the series, which also features hosts USA and Namibia. All four matches will be played at the Grand Prairie Stadium, with each game scheduled to begin at 10:00am local time.
UAE will begin their campaign against Namibia on Saturday, October 3, before taking on USA on Monday, October 5. They will face Namibia again on Friday, October 9, followed by another meeting with hosts USA on Sunday, October 11.
While Bhatia’s experience will be central to UAE’s campaign, the series could provide a significant platform for Misbah. At just 17, the top-order batter has already progressed through the UAE’s age-group pathway and will now have the chance to showcase his skills against established international opposition. His senior debut, if it comes in Dallas, could mark an important early milestone in what UAE will hope becomes a long international career.
