Shoriful-Starc both claimed 6 wickets

Mitchell Starc bowled 10 overs for Australia, taking 6 wickets for 12 runs. He took his first 5-wicket haul against Bangladesh and the 19th of his Test career. Apart from him, captain Pat Cummins took 3 wickets for 25 runs. During this lethal spell, Starc surpassed former South African great Dale Steyn (439) in terms of wickets in Test cricket.

After dismissing Bangladesh cheaply, Australia lost wickets in quick succession, with Travis Head (22), Matt Renshaw (8), Marnus Labuschagne (4) and Alex Carey (5) departing in quick succession. Steve Smith made 42 in the crunch moment , while Green hit a half-century (51*) to take the team’s lead past 100. In the lower order, Beau Webster and Pat Cummins could not even open their account. Shoriful Islam bowled 11 overs, taking a total of 6 wickets for 35 runs. This proved to be the first 5 wicket haul of his Test career.
