Australia seal ODI series against Zimbabwe 3-0
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza led from the front with an unbeaten 81 off 72 balls*. Craig Ervine (59) and Innocent Kaia (55 ret. hurt) contributed as well. Zimbabwe scored 271/8. During chase, Australia suffered a disastrous start, slumping to 2/29 early on. Josh Inglis rescued the innings with a brilliant 103 off 102 balls.
However, a late collapse sparked by Brad Evans left Australia reeling at 9/246, still needing 27 runs. Evans ended with 4-47. Nathan Ellis 36* and Spencer Johnson held their nerve in a tense last-wicket partnership. With 9 runs off the final over required, Ellis smashed a six off the first ball and then went for the winning single on the fifth ball to seal a thrilling victory. Australia won the series 3-0.

Edinburgh Castle Rockers claim the inaugural EPL title
After opting to bat first, Belvast Wolves posted a competitive total of 150 for the loss of five wickets. They were anchored brilliantly by Tim Tector, who scored a sublime 84 off 62 balls. Devon Conway added a 29 off 24. Trent Boult was the highlight of the Edinburgh Castle Rockers’ bowlers with 2-21.
Chasing 151 for the inaugural EPL title, Edinburgh Castle Rockets won the match comfortably in the 19th over. Andries Gous anchored the chase with a powerful knock of an unbeaten 90 off 61 balls to seal the championship. They ended the innings with 151/3.

Stephen Fleming in his first press conference as England’s Test coach said, “I would love to be in charge of the number one Test team in the world. That would be my aspiration. The Ashes is something that I can’t wait for. As a New Zealander, I have watched and loved the Ashes all my cricketing life, so to be part of that is an absolute highlight. I can’t help but get excited for that.”
Following a unstable 11-month period for English cricket, Fleming’s comment came with new hopes as he joined the side in July replacing Brendon McCullum. “We’ve done some things to start that piece of work, so that’s really important to me. I don’t want to go into too much detail of it, but it’s something that we will work on. So not only will we be in the best position to win cricket games, but also represent the England cricket team in its best form,” Fleming said.
BCB to introduce a six-team domestic competition structure
On Sunday the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) approved a six-team domestic competition structure covering all three formats. It will have First-Class, List A One-Day, and List A T20 cricket under a single competition with the T20 tournament set to be the first event in December 2026.
“The Board agreed in principle to introduce a six-team domestic competition structure covering three formats – First Class (four-day), List A One-Day and List A T20 – under a single competition framework,” the BCB said in a press release.
