Smriti Mandhana created history by scoring a century against Hong Kong and China in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. She reached her century in 57 balls. With this, Mandhana set a series of records. Mandhana surpassed many legends, including Mithali Raj. Mandhana smashed 124 off 64 balls as India posted 193/5 before bowling Hong Kong out for just 56 in 16.2 overs to register a massive 137-run victory in Dubai.
Mandhana has secured the top spot for most centuries in women’s cricket. She has also shattered several other records. The left-handed batter played a brilliant innings of 124 runs in the match, marking her second century of her T20 International career.
The Indian opener’s innings was not just about the runs. Mandhana (10,880 runs) also moved past Mithali Raj’s tally of 10,868 international runs to become the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket.

Smriti now has 18 international hundreds, moving ahead of Australia’s Meg Lanning, who had 17. Her 124 is also the highest individual score in the history of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, going past Chamari Athapaththu’s unbeaten 119 against Malaysia in 2024. Mandhana’s score is also the highest individual T20I score by an Indian woman, surpassing her own previous best of 112 against England in 2025.
After the match she said, “I don’t have anyone in mind who I would like to dedicate, but definitely, my family. We’re not really aware of (the opposition). We had seen a few videos, but not really aware. We’re playing them for the first time, so when you come against a bowler who you don’t know a lot, you have to just forget that you’ve played whatever cricket.”
She added, “You just have to go, watch the ball, and I think it was more about just adjusting to the pace. I would say that full tosses are not my strength. I’m happy that I could get away with a few of the full tosses today. I think any top-order batter would say that sometimes full tosses can go for a six, or you can get out.”
