Ahead of India Women’s upcoming clash, bowling coach Aavishkar Salvi addressed in Dubai, downplaying concerns regarding the harsh humidity and surface conditions. Dismissing early assumptions that spinners would dominate the tournament, Salvi noted the overall balance shown by the bowling unit.
“In our last match, both our spinners and pacers were among the wickets, so the condition of the pitch isn’t a major worry for us,” Salvi stated, emphasizing that adaptabilities remain the key focus.
Addressing the batting line-up’s sudden middle-order collapse in the previous game, the bowling coach offered a composed perspective on the volatile nature of the shortest format.
“A collapse like that can happen to any side in T20 cricket,” Salvi noted. “What truly matters is that we eventually reached 160 runs on the board, which was a competitive total.”

“Workload management is being actively implemented”
Salvi also shed light on fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur’s selection and rotation strategy. Given her extensive participation across international fixtures, franchise leagues, and domestic circuits, managing her workload has become essential.
“Renuka plays continuously across all formats—international, franchise, and domestic cricket. So, workload management is being actively implemented for her,” he explained.
Beyond the immediate match, Salvi highlighted the team’s broader trajectory, confirming that the current schedule forms an integral part of their build-up to the Asian Games, which stands as a major end-goal for the squad. He concluded by praising the noticeable individual progress of players like Arundhati Reddy and Sree Charani, noting their strong growth and rising standards within the setup.
