A three-match T20 series will be played between India and Afghanistan in September. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for the series on August 12th. According to this official schedule, the three matches are scheduled to be played on September 13th, 15th, and 17th respectively. However, a major update has now emerged regarding the changes to the series schedule.

Cricbuzz reported that the Afghanistan Cricket Board has requested a date change from the BCCI. All three matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, but Afghanistan will host the series.

Changes required in the schedule

The Afghanistan board is seeking to shift the series slightly earlier. It has also requested a match on September 14th, the day Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated. The schedule has been shifted to September 11th, 13th, and 14th. However, no official information has yet been released regarding the change. The report states that the Delhi and District Cricket Association also has no information regarding the change.

India-Afghanistan ODI and Test series took place in June

A series of Test and ODI matches was played between India and Afghanistan between June 6 and 20. The first Test was a one-off match between the two teams, in which Team India won by an innings and 300 runs.

This was followed by the three-match ODI series. Team India dominated here as well. The Indian team won the first match in Dharamsala by 7 wickets. In the second ODI at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow , Team India won by 170 runs. Then, in the third and final match of the series, played in Chennai, the Men in Blue won by 9 wickets.
