Brendon McCullum removed as England Test coach
The England Cricket Board (ECB) has removed Brendon McCullum from his position as head coach of the England Test team. Following the recent retirement of Ben Stokes, the England Test team is now without a captain and coach. ECB CEO Richard Gould stated that the Test team needs a new head coach before the Ashes series. The recent Test series defeats against Australia and New Zealand are believed to be the primary reason for this decision.
ECB Managing Director Rob Key praised McCullum’s contributions. McCullum stated in a statement that he is proud to have coached the Test team and respects the ECB’s decision. He will now focus solely on England’s ODI and T20 teams. During McCullum’s tenure, England won 27 Tests, drew two, and lost 20. This decision marks the end of the Badgeball era in English cricket.

England defeated India by 56 runs in the fourth T20 match played in Southampton to win the series 4-0. With this victory, England also reached the top spot in the ICC Men’s T20 International rankings.

McCullum said, “After the win, the players can drink alcohol tonight. The guidelines are in place and all players are well aware of them. Indian batter creates history by scoring century in the Lord’s Test
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia has created history. She has scored a century in the Test match against England at Lord’s, becoming the first female cricketer to score a century in Test cricket at Lord’s. Yastika Bhatia scored a century on the third day of the Lord’s Test. She reached the milestone in 145 balls. It’s worth noting that this was Bhatia’s first Test century.
Yastika Bhatia made her international debut in September 2021. However, she failed to score a single century in the previous five years. Finally, she scored her first century of her career in the Lord’s Test against England. India scored 285 runs in the first innings. England’s first innings was bowled out for just 170 runs, giving Team India a massive 115-run lead in the first innings.
