Zimbabwe created history by defeating Bangladesh (ZIM vs BAN) on the strength of Innocent Kaia’s century. Zimbabwe achieved the biggest victory in its Test cricket history. They subsequently defeated Zimbabwe by an innings. Kaia scored 140 runs in the match and was named Player of the Match.
Zimbabwe put up a huge score
Batting first, Zimbabwe posted a massive total of 410 runs in their first innings. Opener Innocent Kaia batted brilliantly and scored a century. He scored 140 runs off 227 balls, hitting 17 fours during this innings. Wesley Madhevere was the second highest scorer, scoring an unbeaten 77 runs. Brian Bennett (59) and Craig Ervine (60) also scored half-centuries. Experienced spinner Taijul Islam bowled brilliantly for Bangladesh, taking 7 wickets. Despite this, Zimbabwe managed to score 410 runs.

Bangladesh’s batting flopped
Bangladesh’s batting failed miserably in response to Zimbabwe’s 410. The visitors were bundled out for just 140 in the first innings. Mominul Haque was the only Bangladesh batsman who managed to stay at the crease for a bit, scoring 60 runs off 81 balls. Newman Nyamhuri bowled brilliantly, taking four wickets. Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, and Brad Evans each took two wickets.
After dismissing Bangladesh for 140 in the first innings, Zimbabwe decided to enforce the follow-on. The Bangladeshi team failed to perform well in the second innings either, being bowled out for 185. Blessing Muzarabani took four wickets for the hosts, helping Zimbabwe win the match by an innings and 85 runs.
Zimbabwe won the match by an innings and 85 runs. This is Zimbabwe’s biggest victory in Test cricket history. Previously, they had defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 73 runs.
