“Days were spent under the shadow of gunmen during Pakistan tour”: Litton Das

Bangladesh did not participate in the T20 World Cup 2026. Citing security concerns, Bangladesh’s interim government had refused to send its national cricket team to the tournament, which was held in India and Sri Lanka. However, Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has now made a significant revelation. He stated that since they had already played cricket in Pakistan, they had no issue with playing the World Cup in India. He also recalled the security arrangements during their previous tour of Pakistan.

Litton said, “We attended a meeting where top BCB officials were present. We were simply in the mood to sit in an air-conditioned room and have some tea. We were asked for our opinion—what did we, as players, want? Naturally, we didn’t want any conflict and wanted to play in the tournament.” He added, “We were told there were security issues in that country (India). We responded by saying that we had played in Pakistan as well. Armed security personnel used to stand outside our rooms there. What could be riskier than that? If we could play in Pakistan, why not in India?”
