IND vs AFG: India has established a commanding position in the ongoing one-off Test (IND vs AFG) against Afghanistan at the PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. India posted a total of 564 runs in their first innings. In response, the visiting team, resuming from their overnight score of 113/5 on the third day, was bowled out for just 152 runs. Rajasthan’s Manav Suthar played a pivotal role in dismantling the Afghan lineup, claiming six wickets on his own. In doing so, he made history by breaking a 15-year-old record held by R. Ashwin.

Second-best performance in a debut test innings
Manav Suthar has become the second-best Indian bowler in terms of performance during a debut Test innings. He surpassed the records held by Ravichandran Ashwin (6/47), Abid Ali (6/55), and Dilip Joshi (6/103). Narendra Hirwani holds the top spot with figures of 8/61; he achieved this historic feat against the West Indies in Chennai in 1998. Meanwhile, Manav Suthar delivered his best performance in a debut Test with figures of 6/33.
Regarding the match, India won the toss and elected to bat first, declaring their innings at 564/8. For India, vice-captain KL Rahul and captain Shubman Gill scored centuries, while Sai Sudharsan and Rishabh Pant played half-century knocks. From the opposition camp, Mohammad Salim Saifi claimed 6 wickets for 140 runs in 27 overs, while Ziaur Rahman and Hashmatullah Shahidi took one wicket each.
