She’s going to climb pretty quick: Megan Schutt on Aussie youngster
Lucy Hamilton is going to have a quick rise according to Australian Pacer Megan Schutt. Hamilton’s inclusion to Australia’s 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup is expected to add a new dimension to their campaign this year. “She’s just got it; it’s something you look for when you’re at kids’ clinics and that sort of thing,” said Australian pacer Megan Schutt to AAP. She added, “Whatever ‘it’ is – a bit of a feeling, I guess – and she’s got it for sure. The work ethic and her head’s switched on … getting her in this environment, she’s going to climb pretty quick. The x-factor of being a leftie helps, but she has all the other attributes as well.”
Hamilton already made it to the headlines in recent months. After featuring in the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup last year, she earned international debuts in all three formats in March this year. “She gets some good bounce, bowls a really heavy ball; it’s a real point of difference, especially for our attack. There’s not a lot of them around,” believes Australia coach Shelley Nitschke
Kohli knows how to construct a chase: Sunil Gavaksar
Sunil Gavaskar highlighted Virat Kohli’s consistency after the latter silenced the doubters with a stunning century in the Indian Premier League. Gavaskar said, “While everyone was talking about this being the season of ‘Gen Next’, Kohli showed he is still around. He silenced the doubters with a century and moved to third in the Orange Cap race. He proved that the old generation is still the best.”
Coming off two successive ducks, Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten hundred (105 off 60 balls) against KKR on Wednesday. Speaking of the same on Star Sports show, Gavaskar opined, “Virat Kohli was absolutely outstanding against KKR. He knows how to construct a chase better than most.” He added, “Records are there to be broken, but it will take a very long time for anyone to match what Kohli keeps delivering, game after game, season after season.”
