We were sure Abbas was going to play a vital role for us: Imam-ul-Haq
Mohammad Abbas returned to shine with a five-wicket haul against Bangladesh on Day 2 to bundle out the hosts for 413 after they had resumed the day at 301/4. While Bangladesh batters Najmul Hossain and Mominul Haque handled Abbas well on day 1, Abbas learned his lesson. On Day 2, it was his time to trouble the batters with his pace and angle so much that they have away the wickets.
Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq said, “If you see, he could not get wickets in his first spell, but
the way he came back and was hitting the right areas with the green grass, we were sure
that Abbas was going to come and play a vital role for us. That is his strength, that he always
asks so many questions as a batsman.”
