Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer continues to lead from the front, this time on the field as he plays a massive role in Hardik Pandya’s dismissal. His acrobatic effort at the boundary saw PBKS get rid of the Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper in the crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match at the Wankhede Stadium on April 16 (Thursday).
With the boundary ropes just inches away, Shreyas jumped over it, latched onto the ball and threw it back to Xavier Bartlett inside the boundary, who completed an easy catch. While the scorecard will show that the catch was taken by Bartlett, it would not have been possible without Shreyas’ athletic intervention.

Rohit, Surya stunned
His effort was so good that it left the opposition dugout, especially Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, who were the closest to the action, stunned.
Hardik had to walk back for just 14 as a result. He was struggling to get going, and that catch from Shreyas brought an end to his painful 12-ball stay in which he hit just one six.
Riding on a superb unbeaten century (112*) from Quinton de Kock, MI managed to get to 195/6 from their 20 overs. They are in desperate need of a win, having won just one of their four games before this.
