IPL 2026 Bulletin: Major Talking Points | April 15, 2026

RCB beat LSG by 5 wickets

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 5 wickets in the 23rd match of IPL 2026 played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Lucknow scored just 146 runs after batting first. In response, RCB chased down the target with 5 wickets in 29 balls. With this win, RCB reached the top spot in the points table. This is RCB’s first home win against Lucknow at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

For RCB, Rasikh Dar Salam (4 wickets) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3 wickets) wreaked havoc with the ball, while Virat Kohli (49 runs off 34 balls), Jitesh Sharma (23 runs off 9 balls), and Rajat Patidar (27 runs off 13 balls) were impressive. In the end, Tim David (14 runs off 8 balls) and Romario Shepherd (14 runs off 8 balls) remained unbeaten.

Rohit Sharma expected to miss Punjab Kings game

Mumbai Indians just can’t catch a break in IPL 2026. Their star opener, Rohit Sharma, will have to sit out the next two games because of a hamstring injury. During Sunday’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rohit walked off the field halfway through. He looked pretty uncomfortable, and the physio had to step in. Rohit retired hurt and never came back to bat.

The team, now led by Hardik Pandya, ended up losing to RCB by 18 runs. Things aren’t getting any easier, either as Mumbai has lost three matches in a row. Delhi Capitals beat them by 6 wickets, Rajasthan Royals by 27 runs, and now RCB by 18. Their next two matches are coming up fast: Punjab Kings on April 16 and Gujarat Titans on April 20. Hardik Pandya has his work cut out for him, trying to snap this losing streak. And with Rohit out of the lineup, it’s not getting any easier.

Pat Cummins set to return for SRH against RR

Sunrisers Hyderabad are having a pretty solid run this season in the 2026 IPL, and fans finally got some good news. Pat Cummins, the team captain, just announced when he’ll be back. The only catch is, Hyderabad still has to play a couple of matches without him. Cummins let fans know about his plans on April 15, chatting with someone on Instagram.

Cummins told the fan he won’t play against Chennai Super Kings on April 18, and he’s also going to miss the match against Delhi Capitals on April 21. But he’s targeting a comeback for the game against Rajasthan Royals on April 25. He mentioned he’ll be flying back from Australia on April 17 to rejoin the team and get ready for the second half of the IPL.
