I worked on all my weaknesses: Sameer Rizvi

Samir Rizvi of Delhi Capitals, made history on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium while chasing a target of 163 runs for victory against the five-time champions, the Mumbai Indians. Playing as an Impact Substitute for Delhi, Rizvi played a magnificent innings of 90 runs off 51 balls, playing a pivotal role in his team’s victory for the second consecutive match. For his wonderful innings, he was awarded the player of the match.

After the match Rizvi said, “I have worked very hard on myself because since last year there have been many changes. I worked on all my weaknesses, and I used to have some problems against fast bowlers, so I worked a lot on that throughout the year. The hard work is paying off now, I am batting well. And what you said is true – sometimes when a player is in the zone, he sees the ball differently.”

We will focus on what we need to do against Mumbai: Riyan Parag

The 9th match of IPL 2026 was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans faced off. Rajasthan won the match by 6 runs displaying a magnificent performance. With this victory, the team secured their second consecutive win of the season, giving a significant boost to their confidence.

Gujarat, on the other hand, suffered their second consecutive defeat—a matter of concern for the team. Both sides showcased strong batting and bowling performances during the match, but ultimately, the victory went to Rajasthan. After the match RR skipper Riyan Parag said, “It was just incredible. I took a challenge thinking that let’s go full and fast. It’s insane that they (Archer and Tushar) executed as we wanted. He (Dhruv Jurel) asked me to go Jofra on the 19th so credit to him for that. If it comes out it’s good, if it doesn’t we go again. We have not done a lot of justice to the talent he has got. He has to bat No. 3 and hopefully this is the start for him. We will focus on what we need to do against Mumbai.”
